Now, the next thing that Zane would be doing in Payon was getting some money from a job. After eating lunch, he would mkae his way over to the tavern to see if anyone needed help. There, he found rumors of a man named bob who needed a little bit of help just checking on stuff while he was away. Well, that sounded extremely easy to Zane, so he decided that he'd go ahead and do it, because it simply didn't require much effort for pay. He was a bit sore, so he didn't want to do too hard of a job today... he made his way toward the farm that he heard in the rumors.
Upon arriving, he was met with a kind man. The two had a chat.
"So, I'm guessin ya here to watch the cows, boy? Well, I'll leave ya too it! If anything happens, I got a bow in the back you can use. Should kill any wolves in one shot!" he'd say after the untroductions were in place. Zane nodded, and went to go sit on the cow fence.
The stench was rotten... he couldn't understand how in the world farmers could live up with this. But, if he failed this job, the town would see him as so0meone that could not be trusted. Word spread fast.
For the next 2 hours, Zane saw nothing. Just cows... sitting, eating, mooing... nopthign special at all. He had a book to read, luckily.
Upon Bob getting back, Zane got his pay.
"You handled that stench pretty well, pretty boy!" he'd say, with a laugh. Zane let out a fake chuckle.
"I grew up dealing with a lot of shit."
